Immersive Perspective
It was night time at an old house in North Knoxville, on the property there is an old, beat up car port made out of plywood and 2x4's. The inside of the structure is hardly ever used for storing cars but instead for storing a contractor's equipment, old tools, a work bench, a few yard chairs, and some dried out vines and weeds. Some of the plywood walls had holes in them and some were so warped they were hardly attached to the structure. The port had no doors, it was open to the elements. In this space we never did much until an experiment, which required proof, came up. It was from this point forward no one ever spoke of the work we were doing. For the "Proof" to be validated, we had to construct a smaller wooden structure inside. This structure was quite familiar to us; it was a 6 foot section of the cantilevered offices in the A+A building. We plotted a high resolution, full scale version of a certain professor's decorated office door. The image of the door would be glued to the office structure. Once everything was constructed paper airplanes began piling everywhere, film equipment showed up and assembly commenced. We had successfully formed a space where we could conduct and create our "Proof."
