Oblique Strategy | Mapping Pop Culture | Triptych | Prof. Brian Ambroziak
Prompts:
1. Generate brought-together elements and place them into a plane of non-agreement thereby challenging more traditional methods of architectural representation and concept development. The source of these original words / elements should be borrowed from the September 2022 issue of Vogue magazine.
2. Scour the pages for language that strike a strong visual and auditory component. As such, the starting point is not drawn from memory but is external. This of course does not mean dealing with a random process as choose specific words for a reason.
3. Construct a 350-500 word piece of prose from the word fragments identified. The process should be as fluid and as inventive as possible.
4. Form a diagram, a kind of construction manual, that illustrates the organizational strategy of the prose.
5. Produce an image[s] that corresponds to the prose initially generated. These images should expand the potential visualization of the written prose and “touch the viewer’s soul to some degree.”
